Wildflower Villas
Goa
Mimosa, Wildflower’s restaurant, has an extensive menu spanning several pages, comprised mostly of Goan and Indian choices but also Continental options.
Breakfast (8-10.30), Lunch (12-3) and Dinner (7.30-10.30) are all served at the outdoor restaurant or at the other seating areas around the main house.
There is no room service or in-room dining, but there’s a separate bar, built like an old cantina, with outdoor stool seating and plenty of alcohol inside. This is open from 11-3 and 7-11.
Excellent Goan food is made with full authenticity by two local women – the prawn rava fry and fried fish we tried were both cooked to perfection. There are several dishes – such as Tissreo Sukhem (Goan stuffed clam curry) and Goan fenugreek pakoras – that you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else, and although these do need to be ordered a day in advance they’re well worth the wait.
The North Indian food is also great and comes in many veg and non-veg options, meaning there’s something for everyone.
The menu does have a decidedly old-fashioned air about it and this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean that you shouldn’t expect the kind of modern dishes or executions you can find elsewhere in Goa – however, Wildflower are happy to make recommendations for these places.

Dining nearby
Bomras is first on the list; Candolim’s modern Burmese restaurant has been a consistent hit for years and with good reason. Beyond this, Saligao’s chic Cantare bar is a hidden treasure, and Florentines nearby is a local institution with a chicken cafreal that has gained fame far and wide.
Back in Candolim, King Cane Fast Food, a buzzing cart at the football ground junction, serves beef cutlet and chilly fry that has locals queuing up into the night.
Very close to Wildflower you’ll find the well known House of Lloyds serving Goan meats and fish.
