The Secret Garden

Saligao, north Goa

There are 3 rooms available to guests, all in keeping with the Goan heritage style, with impeccable detailing right down to the ornate door handles and the handcrafted, custom-made glass tiles. However, nothing is overly fussy and comfort is not compromised with the heritage aesthetic. The rooms are all simple and spotless with modern, high-standard ensuite bathrooms, quality linen and A/C throughout. Do note that there are no TVs in the rooms.

Malabar, the biggest room, would be at home on the pages of Architectural Digest. It has the most beautiful tiled floor, dainty chandeliers, a coral accent wall and, best of all, huge patio doors opening out on to the garden.

Raja is the warm, mid-size room, almost reminiscent of a farmhouse restoration, with butter yellow walls and simple, classic linen. From the huge curved window you can look out to the original working well.

Lennox is the smallest of room but still characterful. The use of vibrant colour here is typically Goan, with teal walls and striking orange flowers from the garden.
