The Manor

New Delhi

The Manor is located in Friend’s Colony, an exclusive residential area of Delhi, once seen as a suburb, but now part of the central south-east region of this sprawling city.

How to get there:

The Manor organizes pick-ups. All taxi companies know how to reach the hotel too.

Distances & travel times:

airport: 45 mins-1 hr depending on traffic

railway stations:
Nizamuddin: 10 mins; New Delhi: 30 mins

When to go:

The months of October to March are the best time to enjoy Delhi.

Temperatures can rise to 45C in May and fall as low as 5C in Jan, coinciding with freezing smog that makes visibility drop close to 0 some days, so the city can be a harsh place. Both mid-November and early March can be particularly nice, with beautiful blue skies and pleasant sunshine.

In Delhi, Diwali is king and Holi comes a close second. Christmas is also celebrated with increasing intensity, albeit as a commercial holiday instead of a Christian one; it’s a city that loves to flaunt its wealth after all.

Getting around:

Metroauto or taxi are the best ways to travel round Delhi. The metro is very good, check out the map here

Uber cabs are one of the greatest things that have happened to Delhi. Use them. Otherwise local cabs can be arranged by the hotel at a much higher rate.
