There are 13 rooms, classed as either Deluxe Rooms or Garden Suites. Best of all though is the 14^th room, the huge Vembanad Suite, which has ‘honeymoon’ written all over it.

Vividly coloured tiles, cushions, art and flowers are found throughout all the rooms. Red, purple and the most gorgeous shade of turquoise are used sparingly but to perfection, and wooden frames and furniture are both understated and achingly tasteful.

The Vembanad Suite is on the 1^st floor, with a private balcony and multiple windows overlooking the lake, letting in an abundance of natural light to bounce off the brilliant white walls and cool, high-polished floors. Although designed for 2, the separate sitting area can easily host an extra person/child if needed. The suite has a 4-poster bed and huge bathroom with bathtub and shower.

Cheapest are the Deluxe Rooms, all on the ground floor with little porches and Keralan lazy chairs. The carved wooden beds are lovely though they do inhibit one’s ability to watch TV while lying down, a strangely basic flaw.

Garden Suites are situated either on the ground or 1^st floor and are a little bigger in size than the Deluxe Rooms. Some, but not all, come with a massage table in the bathroom, which is great for in-room treatments though not altogether necessary.

In some of the Garden Suites the bathtub sits behind the bed, which could be odd or exciting depending on your point of view.

Specify a suite on the 1^st floor to enjoy having a balcony and a view of the gardens and the lake beyond.
