Palm Grove Beach Resort (Little Palm Grove)
north Goa
Simple, stylish cottages that are as close to being on the beach as you can get – and be comfortable – in north Goa. Ashvem is probably one of the last quiet beaches left here, and if you want to relax away from the masses this is a great option.
Enter from the narrow coastal road via the steep, shared driveway, through large mango wood gates, and there it is, Ashwem Beach, laid out before you, and all your worries fizzle out.
Accommodation consists of 6 simple, stylish bamboo-walled cottages with grass roofs and concrete floors. We loved the big beds, the funky lampshades and the little verandahs outside.
The dining area, 100 metres away at sister property Palm Grove, is lovely and is virtually on the beach as there is not much border to the front of the property. You can sit here on some throw-down pillows and enjoy a nice meal whilst looking out at the most colourful, vibrant sunset you’ll see this side of India.
Little Palm Grove does not have a swimming pool or other amenities but you have an entire beach, and sea, almost to yourself. Friendly staff, helpful management and chilled-out guests make the ambience here almost the essence of Goa.
