Lutyens Bungalow is located on Prithviraj Road, which is in one of the most exclusive areas of New Delhi, round the corner from the city’s much-loved Lodhi Gardens and near to markets and restaurants. India Gate is 2km away, as is the epicenter of Indian political life, Parliament Street. There really is no better location to explore the city.

Lutyens’ Bungalow organizes pick-ups. Though the address is easy to find, the property is unmarked and may require a bit of searching.

When to go:

Any time of the year is possible, though October to March is really the best time to enjoy the capital.

Temperatures can rise to 45C in May and fall as low as 5C in Jan, coinciding with freezing smog that makes visibility drop close to 0 some days, so the city can be a harsh place. Both mid-November and early March can be particularly nice, with beautiful blue skies and pleasant sunshine.

In Delhi, Diwali is king and Holi comes a close second. Christmas is also celebrated with increasing intensity, albeit as a commercial holiday instead of a Christian one; it’s a city that loves to flaunt its wealth after all.
