Junoon In The Hills
near Nainital, Uttarakhand
Roughly a 6 to 7-hour drive northeast from Delhi will bring you to Kathgodam. Two hours further north will take you to the mountain village of Darmani, in which Junoon in the Hills takes pride of place.
The property is a lovely 10 km drive uphill from the main highway, and while there’s little of note nearby, this is a bonus – it lets you appreciate the splendid views in privacy.
How to get there:
Drive from Delhi, or get the train to Kathgodam, or bus to Nainital, and proceed from there by car.
By air:
New Delhi offers the most plentiful connections from across the country, but once there there’s still a fair way to go.
By rail:
Kathgodam is the closest railway station and offers a choice of trains to and from New Delhi.
By bus:
Buses come from Delhi to Nainital, which is closer than Kathgodam.

When to go:
April to June (summer) is the best time to escape the summer swelter.
October to December has mild weather and is the best time for bird watching/birding.
December to January is when you should visit to enjoy the snowfall and captivating views of the ice-capped peaks.
Getting around:
Having your own car is ideal. Otherwise, Junoon can arrange cars with knowledgeable drivers.
