Jivana
North Goa
Rooms are clustered in 3 sections around this hillside property.
The left-hand slope hosts the 2-bedroom, Garden House with its large verandah, swing seat and day bed, whitewashed interior walls and open air bathroom. This is a good option for a family of 4.
Further up the slope sit 2 simple rustic cottages with 1 bedroom and an ensuite bathroom, arguably the best of the cottages so ask for one of these if that’s the room category for you.
Over past the kitchens and open, communal dining area – the latter sheltered by a motorbike strapped into the trees above – are 3 more cute cottages with ensuite bathrooms and king size beds.
30 metres up however, at the top of the grounds, is ideally where you want to be, budget permitting.
There are 3 spacious double bedrooms clustered here, all with ensuite bathrooms and little dressing rooms. These ‘Temple Suites’ – which together form the Temple House (and can be taken all as one) – share the communal kitchen, a large verandah with hammock, dining table and day bed. Best of all, there’s a large roof terrace for that sunset glass of wine overlooking the paddy fields and sleepy village below, and there’s even a little viewing platform at the very top corner of the compound. Groups of up to 8 can be accommodated here, as another simple cottage sits to the side of the Temple House.
