Chandelao Garh

The village of Chandelao is 37km and 40 mins drive to the east of Jodhpur. There’s no way you can come here and struggle to find the hotel as it’s the biggest business and biggest building in the area.

In short: get to Jodhpur then ask the hotel to collect you.
By air:
There are no international flights direct to Jodhpur but it is well serviced with internal flights by Jet and Air India. The airport is situated on the eastern side of the city and is just under 40km from Chandelao by road.
Catch a pre-pay cab from the airport or ask the hotel to collect you (chargeable), the journey is 60 mins+.
By train:
Jodhpur’s main railway station is Jodhpur Junction, and is well connected to the rest of Rajasthan as well as to Delhi and the rest of India. The train from Delhi is good and takes between 10 and 12 hours. Consider stopping off in Jaipur on the way if you have the time.
Ask the hotel to collect you from the station, the drive will take 60mins+ depending on traffic.
By road:
From Jodhpur head east on highway 112 and then turn right (south) at Binawas. There is also a local bus to Chandelao for the more adventurous, this leaves from the Jodhpur bus station and takes approx. 70 mins+.

When to go:
The best period to visit Chandelao is from mid-October to March, with the end of January being the most pleasant time, temperatures then rarely exceed the mid 20s C and the nighttime can get down towards freezing.
Daytime temperatures from March to the end of November will often exceed 30C, and head towards 40C between May and July before the monsoons arrive.
During July, August and September, humidity, rainfall and thunderstorms are the norm.
Getting around:
Get around Chandelao on foot.
For trips and excursions the hotel’s jeep is the way to go and to get back to Jodhpur ask the hotel to arrange a driver.
